First time at a Thai temple?

• Take your shoes off before going into the temple's buildings, and sit so your feet don't point at the Buddha images or the monks.
• Dress modestly: shoulders and knees covered.
• Monks don't touch women: a woman puts her gift on a cloth or hands it through a man. Ask before taking photos.
• People give the temple food, flowers, candles or money. The monks eat only before noon, so food is given in the morning.
• Everyone is welcome, ceremonies included; the big days are Songkran, Kathin and Visakha Bucha.
